Wild Woman: Animal Prints Run Wild this Spring

This season, prepare to take a walk on the wild side with the latest crop of jungle-inspired shoes!

In cooler climes, you can indulge in the animal print trend by picking up a pair of boots with a snakeskin or crocodile upper, or more animal friendly embossing, where a design is pressed into a leather, calfskin or vinyl material. As we transition to warmer weather, or if you’re lucky enough to live in a location sans snow, you can carry on the animal print trend by picking up a pair of peep-toe pumps or strappy sandals that incorporate the trend.

But how to wear this wild and wonderful look? When your shoes are poised to steal the scene – as is so often the case with a bold animal print – you’ll probably want to keep the rest of your outfit relatively simple. We love the look of a croc-inspired shoe peeking out from a crisply tailored pantsuit or a pair of wild leopard print pumps paired with your favorite skinny denims and a simple, streamlined tank top.

Another style tip you’ll probably want to abide by? Be very careful mixing various animal prints – if in doubt, opt to keep it to just one animal print. To that end, don’t feel the need to go overboard and match crocodile to crocodile, or leopard to leopard – doing so looks too matchy-matchy!.
