Although the peek May/June wedding season has passed, there are still plenty of brides who are planning on getting hitched before the autumn chill sets in. And as far as shoe styles are concerned, it’s still all about glitz and glamour—think ruffles, bling and ornate details that will perfectly balance a wedding gown that has a softer, more delicate look. Whether you’re going for a vintage spin or going all out with a big traditional wedding, check out these fabulous shoe styles for the bride with a glamorous edge.

Sparkle, Sparkle
Every bride wants to shine on the big day. The Glitzi pumps from sm are the perfect pair of shoes for the bride that craves glamour. These pumps have a peep-toe detail and rhinestone-encrusted bow. The champagne color works with many wedding dresses that venture beyond traditional white. Dresses with a gold or bronze tone work well with a lighter shoe that has the same warm hues. Designers We Love: Alexander McQueen

As the month of June wraps up, so does the end of the high bridal season. So today we decided to take one last look at some of the hottest bridal shoe fashions from one of our favorite designers: Alexander McQueen. But if wedding bells aren’t in your future, don’t fret. We’ve also thrown in some of the most playful fashion-forward creations from the famed designer that are perfect for a night out at the hottest spot in town.  

The Resin bridal-esque peep-toe pump in pristine white satin features a row of buttons at the heel, as well as a wedding-appropriate bow. Or, to pick up the lace detailing in your dress, perhaps you could step out in the simply gorgeous Lace Covered Pump. As the name suggests this fabulous pump features a light nude upper with a delicate lace overlay. A more than 4-inch covered stiletto heel completes this wedding-worthy look.

If, however, you’re not in the market for a trip down the aisle, McQueen’s design house still has you covered. McQueen’s range of booties are particularly chic. We love the rock-and-roll inspired Python Ankle Boots, which include enough buckles and studs to keep even the toughest rocker chick feeling chic, as well as the rough-and-rowdy Cutout Biker Jacket, which features a sexy, zipper front, as well as sexy cutout detailing. Another fabulous option is McQueen’s Deranged Bootie, which features that same zipper detailing, but this time includes stitching and stud detailing. And we’re also seriously digging the Engraved Cage, a very Rihanna-esque bootie that features vampy intersecting straps and a soaring stiletto heel that measures clear over 5 inches!

Beautiful Bridal Shoes

With so many of my friends’ weddings coming up, I’ve had the chance to dive into great bridal shoes for the fanciest of weddings all the way down to your basic civil ceremony (like my own!). These beautiful bridal shoes will leave you spoilt for choice.

Satin Sling-Backs
Satin shoes make up some of the best wedding shoe choices out there. They are simple enough to match with sheath dresses and knee-length skirts, but they can also set off frothy gowns and princess dresses. Little to no decoration is just fine on your new heels, and the strappy back looks sophisticated.

Simple Slippers
Going for something simple on the big day, like a kimono-sleeved gown or a long, flowing skirt with minimal decoration? Simple slippers will add a casual touch to any dress. They can be mule-like with low heels, or they can be perfectly flat and look more like a shoe you would wear when entertaining at home. We love them paired with vintage-inspired dresses, too.

Open-Toe Heels
Summertime weddings often require open-toe heels. You can show off a pretty wedding pedicure easily enough with open-toe heels, and you can also wear these shoes to break up the effect of a long wedding dress and train. Open-toe heels are great for those of us who want to wear a high heel, but don’t like having our toes cramped into a pump.

Victorian Boots
This isn’t so much a trend as a suggestion, but Victorian boots are great to try beneath column-like gowns and Victorian-inspired items. Victorian boots might be worn at calf length, with buttons up the side, or they can be longer and have a hidden zipper. Look for yours in shades of cream and stark white.

D’Orsays with Lace
A lace overlay on a pair of d’orsay heels is wonderful, and it can make a plain dress appear dressier and more decorative. Cream over gray looks sophisticated; white over white is extremely subtle. For a true mark of elegance, try a pair of shoes with lace-covered buttons that run up the side.

Best Flat Bridal Shoes for Summer

You want to look stunning on your wedding day, but comfort is also key if you plan on dancing into the night with your new husband. While a kitten heel may very well get you through the evening, flats are the obvious choice if you’re looking for comfort as well as a chic look. The following are the best flats for the big day, whatever your budget:

For those who are trying to save their money for a blowout honeymoon, there’s a lot to love about the Gamba by Apple Bottoms. These stunning gold flats are less than $30 and boast a flirty peep toe accented with an adjustable strap with a glitzy buckle detail.

Another great option for less than $40 is the so-summer appropriate Blossom by Pour La Victoire, a pristine white ballet flat complete with an oversized floral detail at the rounded toe. A jewel detail adds an extra hint of glamour on your big day.

If you’ve got a little more money to spend on your bridal footwear, we love the ultra-romantic Jemmy by Nine West. This stunning ballet flat, which is actually in a muted white hue that has undertones of grey, features a rounded toe and low-slung side panels for extra comfort as you stroll down the aisle. The feature we’re really loving, however, is the fun and flirty floral detail at the toe.

If you’re going for gold on your big day, then you’ll love the deceptively named Lilac by Betsey Johnson. This shoe features a bold, shiny gold upper complete with an elongated, pointed toe with oversized fabric bow. This shoe may feature a teeny tiny heel–think less than an inch–but it’s still considered a flat.

And for those who are planning a true platinum wedding, we’d recommend stepping out in the Ancourt Flat by Modern Vintage. This shoe, which comes courtesy of one of my favorite designers, features a shiny upper that includes such low-slung side panels that it’s borderline D’orsay! In addition, this shoe features the tiniest hint of a peep toe, accented by a wedding-appropriate bow in a silver hue.

And let’s face it; this list wouldn’t be complete without the aptly named Bridal Ballerina by Lanvin. While definitely wedding-appropriate with its soft cream silk upper, this shoe features stunning jewel embellishments at the toe to make any bride stand out. At nearly $700 a pop, they sure are pricey, but it’s a small price to pay for both comfort and style.

Garden Wedding Shoes

Many brides are opting for outdoor weddings this year. Usually held on private property, garden weddings are romantic and sweet, but a travesty for stilettos. If you’re headed to a garden wedding this season you’ll want to go with block heels or even a wedge sandal to avoid sinking into the grass. Here are our top picks that will let you look fabulous, while keeping you above ground.

Sweet and Chic
If you’re going for a sophisticated look at a garden wedding, you’ll want a shoe that’s just as chic. The Get Going wedges from Jones New York are the perfect sleek shoe for looking stylish while standing on the grass. These shoes have a leather upper with a peep-toe detail and a low-wedge heel. The black shade is perfect for weddings that take place at dusk, but the nude will elongate your legs and work well with pastel or bright dresses during wedding season.

Shimmer, Shimmer
Shine with a pair of metallic wedges from Bandolino. The company’s Adeline wedges are low enough to keep you comfortable while dancing the night away, while the soft gold color provides an excellent match for almost any outfit. For some of us, a true gold color may be a little much for a garden wedding (after all, the vibe is soft and romantic), but this brushed gold offers warmth without being too stark or clashing with your outfit. For an extra touch of sophistication, these wedges have a woven detail down the center and a covered heel that blends seamlessly.

Casual Cool
Maybe the garden wedding you’re attending is more informal. The Barcelona wedges from BCBG hit all of the right notes for a pair of shoes that are casual and cool. If you’re wearing a simple sun dress to the ceremony, opt for these neutral shoes with raffia wedge heels. The elasticized straps won’t constrict your feet or let them get too hot as you watch the happy couple exchange vows in the sun.
