Stepping out of the ordinary and walking on the wild side is always fun when it comes to trying new footwear styles. Opt for fabulous styles like the ones that we found that merge a bounty of fabulous embellishments that will complement your printed apparel pieces and spice up your more traditional, solid color looks.
For Comfort
Stay comfortable and glamorous in flats that sparkle. Kenneth Cole’s Glass Slipper, in gray and black features a round toe and sequin detailing that sets them apart from everyday flats. Pair them with your favorite jeans and T-shirts to add something extra to your everyday look, or style them with cropped pants and a blazer for a sophisticated, chic look.
For a Day Out
Naughty Monkey’s Joshua Tree wedges are perfect for the warmer days of fall. These canvas wedges feature studs and grommets along the T-strap, platform, and 5-inch wedge heal. Available in black, orange and gray, the simple change in color creates a whole new look. The black plays with the biker look, orange with the bohemian vibe, while the gray has more a of beach-y appeal. These versatile shoes pair well with dresses, skirts, jeans, and tops bursting with vibrant prints.
For a Night Out
Embellished heals have made their debut on red carpets and are finding their place in our closests. For a truly sassy look, try out Boutique 9’s Daraye. The d’orsay design and peep-toe let your feet breathe in the fresh air. The bow above the tow lends itself to a girly, Betty Boop kind of cuteness, while the stud and grommet details that are spread over the whole shoe make it pop. For a more toned downed shoe that still stands out, try BCBG’s Abram pumps with a classic front and studding along the heal. Pair with metallic colors, little black dresses or your favorite body-conscious skirts.

Colorblocking is a fun trend that won’t cost you a fortune to try. Take a bold top, bright bottoms and a statement shoe for a look that’s runway ready, but still fit for real life. We love the colorblocking trend because it can be worn to the office or to a party. Colorful shoes are a brilliant way to try the trend and here are a few of our favorites that are sure to steal the show when worn with bright pieces.
Wild Party Nights
When it’s time to go out, work colorblocking into your evening look for a little fun. The Dejana 2 Taffeta peep-toe booties from Boutique 9 add color and a trendy silhouette. The shoes have a peep-toe and zip at the back for easy access. A bit of texture accents the top of the foot and the bubblegum pink color allows you to try the colorblocking trend with a girlie twist. Try a yellow blouse and a gray pencil skirt with these bright pink booties.
Remember that dressy shorts are also hot this season, so land yourself a pair in canary yellow or grass green and try the opposite hue on top when wearing these whimsical booties.
Calm Casual Days
If you’re going casual and need some colorblocking, look no further than the Gummie flats from Madden Girl. These jelly flats with a peep-toe and large floral decoration are available in kelly green and royal blue, making them prime candidates for colorblocking. Because these flats are so kitchy, you want to keep your outfit chic. Try a bright boatneck and equally vibrant capri pants to balance the sweet flats. A shirt dress is also a great option and additional colorblocking can come from a skinny belt cinched at the waist in a contrasting color.
Office Attire
For colorblocking at the office, you want to keep the style of the shoe fairly traditional. The Loveme pumps from Michael Antonio are fabulous for work and play. These platform pumps can be worn with a bright sheath dress and colorful cardigan or a shrunken suit with a vibrant top underneath. The Loveme’s are girlie, but still work for the office. Pair subdued colors for colorblocking with this pink shade, such as cobalt, gray and green.

Cinderella may have worn a glass slipper when she met her prince, and Kate Middleton, she wore a pair of Alexander McQueen’s when she tied the knot to the Duke, but we all know that you can’t wear your formal shoes for running all around the palace.
Kate Middleton has quickly become a fashion icon and she was recently spotted wearing a pair of black round-toe shoes with a natural-hued wedge. Purchased from upscale UK retailer LK Bennett for a tidy sum (which have subsequently sold out and are now being re-released by the store due to increased demand), these shoes are quickly becoming a fashion must have for this coming season. To get Kate’s look over here in the U.S., we recommend the following similar styles:
$
For far less than the duchess paid, you can step out in the equally chic Mackenzie by Merona. At just $22, these shoes boast a shiny upper complete with cutout detailing, a flirty peep toe, and an approximate 2-inch cork wedge heel. Adorable!
A second option is the slightly more casual Kendal Knot by American Eagle, which features a beach-chic canvas upper complete with a peep toe and knot detailing. This shoe, which is also available in an ultra-summery white hue, boasts a slightly higher heel, at approximately 3 inches.
$$
If you’ve got a little more dough to spare, we recommend the Sparrow by Chinese Laundry, which features a leather upper complete with side cutout detailing and a dainty peep toe. This shoe is finished with a sexy sling-back strap with a buckle closure for a custom and comfortable fit.
We also love the Lexine by Anne Klein, which belies its $46 price tag with an ultra-glossy patent leather upper, a peep-toe opening, and a slender sling-back strap. This shoe is finished with an approximate 3-inch cork wedge heel for more than a hint of height.
$$$
If money isn’t an object, you can step out in the Hazel by UGG Australia. This sandal, which is available in a host of other shades, boasts intersecting fabric straps that criss-cross to reveal a peep toe and daring side cutouts. A sling-back strap ensures a comfortable fit, while the approximate 4-inch wedge heel will keep you head and shoulders above the competition.
If you’re looking for something with a little more edge, we love the Quest by Dolce Vita, a classic leather shoe complete with peep toe and swooping side panels. The real interest, however, comes from the stud detailing that runs along the side where the leather meets the approximate 4-inch wood-look wedge heel.
We think you’ll agree–any of the above styles are fit for a Queen (or a Duchess!)

Whether you’re planning on spending your Valentines day with your significant other, or just a bunch of your significantly single gal pals, we here at MyShoes.com think it’s always a great reason to pick out a new pair of shoes (as if we needed a reason at all!)
Below you’ll find some of the shoes that we’d be proud to step out in, categorized by occasion of course!
A romantic evening with the husband:
Here’s the deal ladies – if you want your valentines day outfit to be a surprise on the big day, then you’ll need to make sure that the price of your shoes doesn’t arouse suspicion on the ol’ credit card statement. With this in mind, we recommend the budget-friendly Aishah by the aptly named Romantic Soles. Clocking in at a wallet friendly $26, this shoe boats a bold satin upper with a flirty peep toe and an oversized contrast bow detailing. A slender slingback strap and 3 ½ inch covered stiletto heel complete this look.
A romantic evening with the boyfriend (yes, there’s a difference!)
When you don’t have to tell your significant other how much you spent (or if your beloved has waved buh-bye to a budget!), we’d love to step out in the so-romantic Ophelia by Martinez Valero. These beautiful peep-toes – which are also available in a wedding-worthy white in case things really go well on this date! – boasts an oversize bow accented with not-so-girly grommet detailing. This shoe is finished with a vertigo-inducing 4 ½ inch stiletto heel and accompanying platform midsole. Read more »
