For the remaining days of summer you’ll want a light yet professional shoe look for the office. For those days when sandals just won’t do, you can always look to a pair of gray office shoes. Gray shoes are an easy way to make bright or printed dresses a little more summer friendly, and there’s nothing like a pair of gray pumps to make your outfit look on point. Here are a few of our favorite gray shoes for the office this season.
The Classics
For a classic pair of pumps with an exotic twist, try the Haya pumps from Pour La Victoire. These gray pumps are on the lighter side with a rounded toe and an easy-going 3 1/2-inch heel. The shoes are embossed for a lizard skin finish, which adds texture to your look. Summer is all about the luxe factor, from silk dresses to opulent jewels and exotic (or faux exotic) skins. You want to keep the lines clean and modern, but feel free to experiment with texture and bold color. The Haya pumps allow you to do that with ease since they’re luxe enough to garner attention, but don’t steal the show.
Just a Peep
Reach for a peep toe with the Ramonna pumps from Jessica Simpson. These smart pumps have a subtle peep toe and angular detail at the vamp. The 3 ½-inch heel is easy to get around in whether you’re going from meeting to meeting or spending the day in the office. Try the Ramonna pumps with a shrunken suit or any wrap dress in summer’s favorite colors, like red or orange. The subdued shoe brings the color down a notch, making intense hues far more wearable. Bonus points for the Ramonna pumps—you can wear them at night with a blouse and skinny jeans.
Wonderful Wedges
If you want something a little less conventional, look to the Edie wedges from Pour La Victoire. These are more of a taupe gray than a true gray, but fit into the neutral color family of shoes that are trendy this season. The Edie wedges have a pointed toe and covered wedge heel that measures in at 3 ½-inches. Wear them with your wide-leg trousers or skinny slacks, and don’t be afraid to sport them with a brightly colored full skirt. The Edie wedges can easily transition to the weekend. Just add rolled-up boyfriend jeans.

There’s nothing like a pair of cute booties to round out your shoe collection. They’re a verstaile, stylish option that works virtually year round; it’s all in how you wear them. The affordable Sam Edelman Peep booties are a steal at $64.50, and a pair of booties like these can work with many pieces in your wardrobe and will keep your outfits looking current.
Day
The Sam Edelman Peep booties are edgy, but they definitely work for day. They have a peep toe, which means they’re perfect for breezy summer days. Try them with floral print dresses or a feminine blouse and dressy shorts. You can also play with proportions by mixing these ankle booties with mini and midi (calf-length) skirts. You want the silhouette of the skirt to gently skim your shape without being too poufy or full. Mix the Peep boots with print wrap dresses for a quirky look that will work at a casual office.
Night
At night, the Peep booties can shine. Pair them with your favorite LBD or go fashion-forward by wearing them with a silk romper. And evening is the perfect time to make a statement with your toe nail color. Taxi-cab yellow, bright blue, and mint green are trendy nail colors this season and will pop with the Peep booties in gray.
Transition Season
We love these boots because they can easily make the transition not only from day to night, but from summer to fall. When the temperature begins to cool down, try the boots with dark opaque tights. But your options aren’t limited to black tights only. Eggplant, navy, and forest green are also great options.

Okay, okay, we get it. It’s warm out, and probably the last thing you want to put on your feet right now is a pair of boots. But booties, and those that also sport a peep toe in particular, are an ultra-chic option paired with this season’s fashions.
Keep this look appropriate for the warm weather by following these simple tips and tricks:
Lighten Up:
For the summer, opt for a peep toe bootie in a light or bright shade. We can’t wait to step out in the Fancy by Dollhouse, which features your choice of white, blue, or yellow uppers (there’s black too, but stick to the rules!), as well as a gorgeous floral detail at the ankle. Metalics are also a great choice for a summer peep toe bootie, such as with the Trinket by Guess, which also features a series of straps in a warm weather worthy light brown hue. Read more »
It came in as a frantic text message this past Friday, tapped out by a friend frantically scouring her wardrobe and coming up short time and time again.
The question in… uhhh… question? Can you rock boots when the weather warms up? The answer? Well… what type of boots are we talking here?
Here we lay out what will work when the mercury rises, and what should be sidelined until the temperature starts heading south again. Read more »
Our warm weather shoes have grown up a lot. No longer are we limited to sandals for showing off and airing out our tootsies. Designers have embraced the tough chic, multi-season charm of the open bootie and all its multiple incarnations, and for summer, this must-have shape is getting a super modern makeover and mega alfresco treatment thanks to net fabric and cutouts.
In ankle hugging styles or slingbacks, these shoes play a new game of hide and seek, giving you the covered shape so coveted now with the added surprise and flair of sexy, airy net. It takes the weight out of uppers and makes them a super alluring alternative to regular sandals, and when covering high heels and platforms, the net adds pure seduction to the look.
Change your shoes, change your look. It seems no matter what we’re wearing, swapping a pair of classic ballet flats for a sky high pair of platform heels will completely change a look in mere seconds. The same can be said of allowing you to try out new trends that may be difficult to wear in terms of clothing, but a breeze to wear on your feet. Nautical Details
Nautical takes over spring with the traditional red, white and blue motif. Look for gold metal details, rope-like accents, grosgrain ribbon trim and wood or cork soles. Wearing the nautical trend can make you look like it’s Halloween, but sporting the trend on your feet is a walk in the park. Keep your ensemble classic. To avoid a look that’s too mature, stick with structured, architectural pieces like a petal hem skirt or asymmetrical blouse or dress. Stick with neutrals like light gray, beige and bronze and let the shoes speak for themselves. Nautical-inspired shoes are adorable for day. Read more »
