The biggest shopping day of the year is nearly upon us! Be prepared to work off that Thanksgiving feast and grab some fabulous bargains with these Black Friday survival tips.
Pack Your Patience
If you choose to venture out into the world of brick-and-mortar stores to start your holiday shopping, it’s best to get there early and pack your patience. If you plan on taking advantage of deals that are being offered at big box retailers you certainly won’t be alone. And big crowds often equal limited parking and agitated people. So in order to prevent you from losing your cool, just remember to keep calm, get the item you came for, get out, and then celebrate your shopping bounty at home with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
Try the Little Guy
The mall isn’t always the best place to find gifts this holiday season. Small shoe boutiques are more likely to have a larger Black Friday selection of products, better parking, and a lot fewer people beating down the doors at 5 a.m.
Dress for the Part
We all like to look cute when we’re shopping, but this is modern shopping warfare! Keep the 4-inch leather boots at home and dress for comfort—ballet flats, tennis shoes, and flat boots are the way to go!

I know I’m probably jumping the gun, but with Thanksgiving just a few scant days away I’ve already started putting together my holiday wish list.
Here are my top three must-haves that I’d love to find underneath my tree:
*Cobalt blue Skylar booties from Zigi are all I need to make the season bright.
*My decadent side is digging these Simple Botta 120’s from Christian Louboutin. They are fierce! (and only $1,395!)
*It will be a New Year’s Rockin’ Eve to remember in these Bijou red-devil pumps from Dolce Vita.
So, what styles are on your list this year?

We all have fabulous style, but we don’t always have the finances to indulge our tastes. So I pose the question to myShoes readers: What’s your dream shoe for the season? Is it a pair of Uggs to keep out the winter chill? Thigh-high Louboutin’s to indulge your funky side?
Let us know what your dream shoe is for fall/winter 2011 and we’ll post the results in a blog next month!

Just because the weather has turned gloomy doesn’t mean that you must resign yourself to wearing a parade of dull, boring brown or black shoes until the sun decides to come out sometime in May. Brighten up your look, as well as your mood with these fierce, fabulous, colorful winter boots.
Brilliant Green
Boutique 9’s Cathy mid-calf leather boot in a pale, forest green looks bo-ho chic and earthy.
Deep Purple
If you feel like standing out in a crowd, but also keeping your feet warm, you must, must, must check out the Alda thigh-high boot from Shiekh. I barely have words to describe these funky and fabulous 4-inch stunners! Simply click here and behold!
Bright Orange
I’m still not sure how I feel about flat boots, but no matter what stance you have on the issue, you’ll definitely want to check out the Nicolette bright orange flat boots from Michael Kors. They just might be the perfect thing to perk up a black cashmere turtleneck and A-line gray skirt.
True Blue
And since there’s nothing like a blast of cobalt blue to shake you out of the winter blahs, thank goodness Steve Madden conjured up the Princey ankle bootie. The brilliant color in addition to the amazing skinny 4.5-inch heel equals nothing short of fabulous!

We know East Coast fashionistas don’t let the weather challenge their fashion skills. Rain or snow, ladies of the east always manage to stay chic. To keep you looking your best in the rain, we’d like to share a few fun shoe and style suggestions that blend your favorite fall trends with weather-proof designs. Try out these looks to make a refreshing fall fashion statement.
Ridin’ the Rain: What better way to ride through the rainy season then with riding boot inspired gear? It’s easy to achieve a refined look with Dav’s Distressed Equestrian Solid boots in dark gray. Boasting metallic accents, a 1-inch heel, a rubber sole, and an overall riding boot style, it’ll be easy to achieve a refined look. Pair these boots with leggings or skinny jeans for a sleek silhouette. Finish off with a camel colored top and your favorite rain coat to stay sophisticated in the wet weather.
Lace up and Rock Red: Even though combat boots and lace ups have been trying to make a splash in the style world, they weren’t meant for heavy rain–that is, until the Chooka Buffalo Bone came along. You’re sure to love the fashion forward lace up detail against plaid print and the single red stripe that adds a pop of color. Match them with your red skinnies from summer and a neutral top for a brighter look. Add a gray scarf or knit hat to tie everything together and viola!—you’ll be the trendiest fashionista in any amount of rain or shine.

It’s raining here today in what is typically sunny Southern California, and all of the girls in the office are super excited to finally have a chance to break out their ankle booties and rain boots (believe it or not, wearing ballet flats and peep-toes day in and day out can be a bit dull.) So in honor of our first chilly day of the season, I thought I’d dedicate this blog to the luxurious, glamorous, close-toed boots of fall.
Rainy Day
When the weather outside is frightful (and wet), you need to keep your feet warm and dry—and fashionable. If you’re feeling colorful on a cold, dreary rainy day, then strap on the Doris rain boots from TopShop. These pink rubber boots with a fanciful crazy daisy floral design can brighten up anyone’s day.
But if you’re in the mood for a more conservative look, then check out the Champery rain boots from Hunter in classic black. They’re sleek, sophisticated, functional and fabulous.
Chilly Evening Out
For a fabulous evening out on a chilly night your best bet are a pair of shoes that are classic and comfortable with a luxurious edge. The Showie suede ankle bootie from Steve Madden features a stunning 4.5-inch stiletto heel and a fun zipper that runs diagonally from the top of the ankle to the heel.
But if you’re feeling a bit more daring (and are willing to spend a lot more cash), then check out the Kneehigh suede boot from Giuseppe Zanotti. These boots have a 4.5-inch heel and are the epitome of wintertime sensuality. But luxury doesn’t come cheap these days. These darlings will cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $900.
Every Day Office Essentials
For chilly days at the office you’ll need to choose from looks that are a bit more conservative. The Alas from Anne Klein gets the job done with a 3.5-inch heel, side zipper, and a platform sole. And for a funky Texas-inspired look, go for the Texxie from Steve Madden. The tan cowboy-style boots have a modest 2.5-inch heel with a distressed leather look that will put a little country kick in your step.
