Get gorgeous with hot trends that will take your wardrobe from drab to fab for the new season. Investing in new shoes allows you to add a new element of style to your wardrobe without spending on clothes. There are plenty of trends for spring 2010, so find one that speaks to you to take your basics to new places.
Suede
Suede is usually reserved for fall and winter, but for spring 2010, it’s all about bright colors and soft neutrals. This makes the typically heavy fabric wearable for warm weather months. Look for ruched or draped details to show off the texture of suede shoes. Light colors like beige and grey elongate the legs. Bright hues make shoes the focal point of the look, and pizzazz to neutral outfits. As a rule of thumb, keep other fabrics smooth when sporting suede for a flawless look every time.
Platforms
Platforms have become the norm, so don’t be shy when wearing them. More is more for spring when it comes to accessories, so rock platform heels and sandals with confidence. Try bold colors, embossed patterns like faux snakeskin and croc and ornate details that will make your shoes stand out in a crowd. If you aren’t comfortable wearing heels, platforms are the way to go because they offer more stability. Between a platform sole and stacked heel, you will be able to walk just as easily as you do in flats.
Wedges
Wedges fell off the map for a few seasons, but they’re back in a big way for spring 2010. Whether you want to go fancy or casual, wedge heels allow you to get around quickly, while looking fabulous. Nude or gold wedges are smart for day. They can be worn with shorts and skirts and add length to your legs. For evening go with patent or bright leather for a cool look that compliments a strapless cocktail dress or blouse and mini skirt, but allows you to dance the night away. Also look to wedge ankle boots to balance ultra feminine frocks.
