It turns out that after years of good old-fashioned R&D, the motorized shoes known as spnKiX will hit stores in March. The battery-powered skates strap onto your shoes and can power you around town at up to 10 mph.

Thankfully, the shoes do not come with a mind of their own, so there’s no need to think that you’ll be zooming around town uncontrollably. You can actually control the speed of the spnKiX with a handheld remote.   

But of course, advanced technology doesn’t come cheap. They’re expected to retail for $649 a pair (more than a pair of flip-flops, but considerably less than a pair of Louboutains!)

Running Away
If you’re into running I highly recommend the Merrell Pace Glove. It’s lightweight, features a mesh upper and above all…it looks cool! Another great option is the New Balance 840. We thought we’d seen the last of wedges last season, but it turns out that we were sorely mistaken. Brands like Prada and Valentino are continuing with the wedge trend and offering some fabulous footwear in the process. (We are specifically loving these Stud Bow Wedge from Valentino.)

Unfortunately, your ankles will not be getting a break from sky-high heels this spring. Expect to see stilettos, which never seem to go out of style, everywhere you look in the upcoming months. Rainbow Bright
Make sure that your shoes of choice make a big, colorful impact this season. Red hot red will be a smash spring color, as well as brilliant cobalt blue, lemony yellow, and green. The FTC found fault with the fact that EasyTone advertisements claimed that walking in the shoes strengthened and toned muscles better than regular athletic shoes.   

Reebok settled up with the FTC for the tidy sum of $25 million, but thanks to lots of positive feedback from women who wear the EasyTone shoes, the company has decided to move forward with developing the EasyTone line.
