Deep Snow Boots: It’s Never Too Early

October 11, 2010 Comments (0)

Are you from an area with a lot of snow? These are the boots you’ll want to buy for the winter. Why not browse now so that you’re prepared for the attack?

Knee-High with Fur Trim
Fur trim is very hot this season, so it’s in your best interest to toss on a pair with faux or real stuff come December. Knee-high boots that look best include ones with trim on the sides and tops, and with some decorative stitching on the front or embroidered tape along the sides. Add some colored laces for a casual look: red or teal looks great with brown. Read more »

How to Wear Thigh High Boots

September 10, 2010 Comments (1)

Thigh high boots are back on the radar for fall and winter 2010. The sultry shoes made their debut into mainstream fashion a few seasons ago, but it was just last fall and winter that they were embraced by the public. Quickly we’ve realized that it’s not only a fashion editor or dominatrix that can get away with the sassy boots. Thigh high boots are wearable for real life; it’s all in how you wear them.

Do’s

-Do choose black. Let’s face it. Black thigh high boots are the easiest to wear and will fit in to your fall and winter wardrobe seamlessly. They are dramatic without being over-the-top when you choose a flat black leather with an almond toe and stacked heel.

- Do choose a platform. We aren’t talking a ridiculously high platform that will make your boots look as if they’re fit for the stage. A 1-2 inch platform will make the boots easy to maneuver, especially if the heel is at 4 inches.

- Do go monochrome when wearing something short. You can wear a short skirt or dress, but you don’t want to cross the line when it comes to looking sexy (and end up looking just plain trashy). Wearing a mid-thigh black skirt, opaque ribbed black tights and black thigh high boots looks hip and pulled-together, yet still pushes the style envelope. Read more »

Which Shoes Work with Jeggings?

March 2, 2010 Comments (0)

Whether you like ‘em or not, it looks like Jeggings – that is the hybrid Jeans/leggings spotted on Kim K, La Lohan and just about every other Hollywood starlet – are here to stay (or will at least be a hot ticket for spring and summer!)

We all know that the style is far from forgiving – courtesy of their form fitting nature and the array of ultra-light washes they’re currently cropping up in – but there are certain footwear choices you can make to really work this look!

Over-the-knee boots:
When there’s still a chill in the air, opting for a boot (and a cozy sweater) can really warm up this new look! If you’re on the shorter side, opt for an over-the-knee boot with a substantial heel – either in the form of a chunky, stacked heel or a wedge – but taller gals can certainly rock a pair of flat boots, just opt for a pair with an almond or elongated toe to create a longer line.

Booties:
Ankle boots, booties, shoe-boots, shooties. Whatever you call ‘em, you’ll want to pair them with leggings. While this look will probably work best for girls blessed with long legs, shorter limbed gals can still make it work by coupling their Jeggings with booties in a similar hue to create a more streamlined look. Thigh High Boots: Height of Fashion or a Serious Fashion Low?

December 9, 2009 Comments (0)

Not since the days when a young Julia Roberts strode down Hollywood Boulevard as a wise-cracking hooker with a heart of gold have thigh high boots looked so good and… well, so wearable.

While Vivian’s… uhhh, trade, dictated that she go for boots with serious sex appeal – think sleek, shiny, and sporting a serious stiletto heel – the thigh high boots seen all over the catwalks could work as easily for a night on the town as they would for an afternoon shopping with your gal pals.

When selecting a thigh high boot, look for a style that suits your lifestyle. Interested in a serious style statement that will steal the scene? Read more »
