Chunky Summer Sandals

Chunky sandals are where it’s at this summer. Besides adding an architectural edge to your look, they’re also extremely comfy. The chunky heel distributes your weight evenly and is much easier on your feet and legs than a pointy stiletto. These chunky sandals will give you the trendy proportion you’re looking for without weighing you down.

Say Suede
Mix texture this summer with the Gamble2 sandals from Topshop. These gorgeous shoes have wide suede straps across the top of the foot and a slingback. The 4-inch heel may sound a little threatening (especially if you aren’t used to heels), but the chunky heels make them wearable. The Gamble2 sandals are available in black, but the brown version is a great look for hot weather, plus they can easily make the transition from summer to fall. Mix them with bright separates, print dresses, and other neutral shades, like whiskey and nude.

Wrapped Up
Over-the-top wedges, like the Wrap from Sam Edelman, are still holding strong this summer–and these funky wedges look fabulous with mini hemlines and skinny jeans. They have that fashion-forward look we all crave in a wearable color scheme that’s brought to you by a faux wood wedge heel as well as a leather strap  over the top of the foot. On a Flatform
As we’ve mentioned before, flatforms are hot for summer, but they can be a little tricky to wear. We love the Addidnton style from Rag & Bone because it incorporates the flat platform look, but with a subtle heel that breaks up the wooden sole. This is more flattering for those of us who don’t have ultra-long supermodel legs. (Flat platforms have a tendency to make us look a little stumpy.) But the Addidnton’s don’t only offer a very flattering look; they work well with your favorite skinny jeans or a maxi skirt.
