{ a blog all about the love of shoes }
Depending on your wedding dress, your shoes will either be frequently exposed or altogether hidden. However even if you’re the only one who sees them, your shoes will determine whether or not you feel classy, confident, and comfortable throughout your big day.

#1 When choosing your wedding shoes, you must first decide your priority: being fashion forward or confidently comfortable.
If you’re most excited about walking down the aisle in uber glam kicks at any expense, then you can focus your efforts on pumps, wedges, or platforms.
If comfort is your number one concern, then you’ll want to concentrate on sandals, flats, and sling-backs.

Although the peek May/June wedding season has passed, there are still plenty of brides who are planning on getting hitched before the autumn chill sets in. And as far as shoe styles are concerned, it’s still all about glitz and glamour—think ruffles, bling and ornate details that will perfectly balance a wedding gown that has a softer, more delicate look. Whether you’re going for a vintage spin or going all out with a big traditional wedding, check out these fabulous shoe styles for the bride with a glamorous edge.
Sparkle, Sparkle
Every bride wants to shine on the big day. The Glitzi pumps from sm are the perfect pair of shoes for the bride that craves glamour. These pumps have a peep-toe detail and rhinestone-encrusted bow. The champagne color works with many wedding dresses that venture beyond traditional white. Dresses with a gold or bronze tone work well with a lighter shoe that has the same warm hues. The high 4 ½-inch heel adds to the drama of the Glitzi pumps, but the platform makes them easy to get around in on your special day.
Blushing Bride
Blame Reese Witherspoon, but blush dresses are where it’s at for late summer weddings this year. The Observe shoes from Caparros have a comfortable 3-inch heel, making them wearable for a long ceremony. The Observe heels are in a deep blush color and have a pointed toe with jeweled detail. Show them off with a short wedding dress or let them peek out from a longer length gown with a sheer overlay.
Silver Belle
Go sleek with silver shoes for your wedding. The Marvel satin shoes from Caparros have a low 2-½ inch heel and folded ribbon detail across the top of the foot. For the bride who loves a chic and minimalist look, but who still craves that glitzy edge, these shoes fit the bill. Silver shoes suit various shades of white, as well as silver dresses or those with a slight gray or lavender undertone.

Garden parties, wedding invitations, and outdoor socializing opportunities means that you’ll need a special collection of fancy footwear for the remainder of the summer. As you know, not every shoe will do when it comes to tromping around in the grass. These shoes won’t sink and leave you stranded.
Turf-Resistant Heels
These high heels are wide enough and balanced enough to wear on grass, and they won’t sink into the ground when it’s soft or wet. Shoes that stay balanced in grass can’t have a tapered heel stem; instead, they’re better with platforms.
Michael Kors Platforms: A thick platform provides a stable setting for outdoor events. These shoes can be picked up in dark brown, which means that you won’t need to worry about grass stains or mud splatters on your new shoes.
Cole Haan Platform Wedges: Cole Haan’s shoes were our choice due to their lean silhouette and slightly lower platform. Simple and sophisticated, they have a textured upper strap and have a clean-finish platform.
Fancy Flats and Low Heels
Flats with a rubberized sole look just as good as shoes with leather soles, and they’ll hold up to inclement weather. A small, low heel is an alternative to flats for secure stepping.
Textured Flats: Flats need some additional pep, since they don’t have the built-in sophistication of a high heel. A flat with a nap or a layered fabric upper is appropriate for a party and will look rich with plain fabrics. Some of our favorites come from Minnetonka (they offer fabulous gladiator styles), Tod’s, and Miu Miu.
Low Heels: Sometimes you just need a heel, but a blocky low heel can cut down on your shoes’ feminine appeal. A peep-toe can help counteract the low heel on your shoes, and one of the best styles we saw was the Fresh style from Pelle Moda. The 1 1/2-inch heel looks sexy and sophisticated in black with a rhinestone buckle at the toe.

With so many of my friends’ weddings coming up, I’ve had the chance to dive into great bridal shoes for the fanciest of weddings all the way down to your basic civil ceremony (like my own!). These beautiful bridal shoes will leave you spoilt for choice.
Satin Sling-Backs
Satin shoes make up some of the best wedding shoe choices out there. They are simple enough to match with sheath dresses and knee-length skirts, but they can also set off frothy gowns and princess dresses. Little to no decoration is just fine on your new heels, and the strappy back looks sophisticated.
Simple Slippers
Going for something simple on the big day, like a kimono-sleeved gown or a long, flowing skirt with minimal decoration? Simple slippers will add a casual touch to any dress. They can be mule-like with low heels, or they can be perfectly flat and look more like a shoe you would wear when entertaining at home. We love them paired with vintage-inspired dresses, too.
Open-Toe Heels
Summertime weddings often require open-toe heels. You can show off a pretty wedding pedicure easily enough with open-toe heels, and you can also wear these shoes to break up the effect of a long wedding dress and train. Open-toe heels are great for those of us who want to wear a high heel, but don’t like having our toes cramped into a pump.
Victorian Boots
This isn’t so much a trend as a suggestion, but Victorian boots are great to try beneath column-like gowns and Victorian-inspired items. Victorian boots might be worn at calf length, with buttons up the side, or they can be longer and have a hidden zipper. Look for yours in shades of cream and stark white.
D’Orsays with Lace
A lace overlay on a pair of d’orsay heels is wonderful, and it can make a plain dress appear dressier and more decorative. Cream over gray looks sophisticated; white over white is extremely subtle. For a true mark of elegance, try a pair of shoes with lace-covered buttons that run up the side.

You’ve been asked to be a bridesmaid in how many weddings this season?! We know you want to be a supportive friend, but there’s a good chance you don’t want to buy shoes for each of these occasions. (You’re already shelling out for all of the dresses!) Here’s a roundup of shoes that can be worn with almost any bridesmaid’s dress and will also give you great mileage well beyond the big day…promise!
Keep it Classic
For a day occasion, the Humbie pumps from Badgley Mischka are a great pick. These pumps have a peep toe and are available in black and gold sequins, but the nude shade is our favorite. The bare shade will work best with a myriad of bridesmaid looks, from cocktail dresses to floor-length gowns. Read more »
