Dreaming of the Spring

January 5, 2012 Comments (0)

While the weather outside is still pretty frightful in most parts of the country, you can still keep yourself warm with thoughts of the impending warm spring weather. I know which shoes I’m dreaming about for SS12, but I want to know which pairs of chic footwear have got you counting down the days to Spring Break!

Are you flipping out over some of the season’s latest flip-flops? Are visions of peep-toe platforms dancing in your head?  Do tell!

Countdown to Christmas, Part III

December 7, 2011 Comments (1)

In this episode of the Christmas Countdown, we bring you shoe gift ideas for the woman who spends her life in stilettos. If her motto is “the higher the better,” then we’ve got the greatest gifts for her!

Four Inches
Four inches may be a little low on the stiletto scale, but they still quality as sky-high heels (and they make your legs look fantastic!) The Rosette Accnt pump from Journee will make a great gift. Not only are they available in a fire engine red shade, but the floral detail at the ankle is nothing short of chic.

Four ½ Inches
Ivanka Trump has created some of the sexiest stilettos on the market! Check out these Bulbi peep-toe pumps. They’re available in several different colors, but my personal favorite is the fabulous purple shade. Pair it with a basic LBD and some sparkly accessories, and you’re ready to hit the town!

Five Inches +
The sky is the limit with these stunning Paisley platform pumps from Mossimo. The electric blue shade is sure to delight the lucky lady on your gift list and the sky-high stiletto will give her a boost as well!

Happy Friday!

Red Hot
If you’re looking for an amazing shoe that your girlfriend can wear for New Year’s Eve, then look no further than the Marcey from DKNY. It’s suede, it’s strappy, and it’s red hot! The heel is about 4.5 inches, but that won’t keep a true fashionista from living it up in New Year’s style!

Animal Planet
The party girl on your list is most likely a real wild woman at heart…and what’s wilder than animal print booties?! The Talia booties from Oh! Shoes are wild and pack tons of style. The sensible 2.5-inch heel will keep her feet comfortable so that she can party all night!

Black Magic
Every true party girl needs a pair of black strappy pumps in her shoe closet, and the Valeria from Joan & David are a picture perfect fit! These peep-toe pumps are classy, sassy and sexy all rolled up in one, and are guaranteed to put you on the Best Friend for Life List!

Steppin’ Out

November 10, 2011 Comments (0)

I’m going out for drinks with the girls this weekend, which got me thinking about not only what outfit I should wear, but what shoes would complete the look. So I decided to take a look around the myshoes site for some inspiration. Here are a few of my top choices for ladies’ night out shoes.

$$$
Valentino’s Bridal platforms are five inches of footwear madness! They feature a floral detail and a price that’s almost as sky-high as the stiletto heel: $795!

You’ll think twice about paying back your student loans when you feast your eyes on the Boston peep-toe pump from Sergio Rossi. For a cool $715 you can cover your feet in designer style.

$$
If you want a little more bang for your buck, then you must check out the Swagger platform from Topshop. For only $124 you can look chic, sophisticated, and still afford to eat dinner while you’re out.

To add a little sass to your look, the Arael style from Boutique 9 fits the scene just right. These lace-up leather booties have a 4.5-inch heel and fringe detail. Total damage: $120

$
Frilly and fabulous will be the first words that come to mind when you lay your eyes on the Glow pump from Unlisted. The reasonable 3.5-inch peep-toe heel is only overshadowed by the very reasonable price: $69.95

And since you can never have too many pairs of sling-back patent leather pumps in your wardrobe, Baby Phat is giving you the opportunity to stock up. The Cassidy style will only set you back $34.99, so you just might want to get them in every color they come in: black, pink, fuchsia, and white.

For Comfort
You can be the most stylish bubble bee, evil witch or black cat on the block with these Kimi Hidden black ballet flats from Elizabeth and James.

Or if you’re looking for a more reasonably priced pair, you can check out the Elastic Top Line flats from Yosi Samara.

For Style
If you’re planning on being a good witch, then check out the 5-inch slivery Shazzam platform sandals from Steve Madden. Or you can indulge your scary yet sexy side with the Annie black pumps from Rachel Zoe

Whichever style you try, you’re guaranteed to be the belle of the ball!

Sugar and Spice: Feminine Elements Meet Tough Embellishments

October 11, 2011 Comments (0)

Stepping out of the ordinary and walking on the wild side is always fun when it comes to trying new footwear styles. Opt for fabulous styles like the ones that we found that merge a bounty of fabulous embellishments that will complement your printed apparel pieces and spice up your more traditional, solid color looks.

For Comfort
Stay comfortable and glamorous in flats that sparkle. Kenneth Cole’s Glass Slipper, in gray and black features a round toe and sequin detailing that sets them apart from everyday flats. Pair them with your favorite jeans and T-shirts to add something extra to your everyday look, or style them with cropped pants and a blazer for a sophisticated, chic look.

For a Day Out
Naughty Monkey’s Joshua Tree wedges are perfect for the warmer days of fall. These canvas  wedges feature studs and grommets along the T-strap, platform, and 5-inch wedge heal. Available in black, orange and gray, the simple change in color creates a whole new look. The black plays with the biker look, orange with the bohemian vibe, while the gray has more a of beach-y appeal. These versatile shoes pair well with dresses, skirts, jeans, and tops bursting with vibrant prints.

For a Night Out
Embellished heals have made their debut on red carpets and are finding their place in our closests. For a truly sassy look, try out Boutique 9’s Daraye. The d’orsay design and peep-toe let your feet breathe in the fresh air. The bow above the tow lends itself to a girly, Betty Boop kind of cuteness, while the stud and grommet details that are spread over the whole shoe make it pop. For a more toned downed shoe that still stands out, try BCBG’s Abram pumps with a classic front and studding along the heal. Pair with metallic colors, little black dresses or your favorite body-conscious skirts.
