We might complain about shoes that look great but fall apart after they’ve been worn two or three times, or the trials of finding divine shoes only to discover they come with astronomical shipping costs, but we should be glad we have it so easy. A weekend marathon of films featuring 1920s silent film star Clara Bow, who also appeared in a few talkies, such as The Wild Party, Dangerous Curves, and The Saturday Night Kid, revealed what shoes were really like more than 90 years ago—and it wasn’t all Hollywood glamour.

Springtime means cool, but slowly warming up, weather, perfect for skirts with a little leg covering. We’re dreaming of melting snow drifts and cute minis, and these tights should work around March/April! Buy them now and get a head start on spring.
Rosy Pink
Pink is such a perfect spring color, but we don’t see people wearing it on their legs too often! Instead of a light pink (notoriously difficult to look flattering), a medium, dusty pink tight in a high denier is lovely. These pink tights look great with floral dresses, and for shoes? We’re kind of crushing on them when they’re paired with demure flats.
Medium Purple
Not too dark, not to light, this medium shade of purple has us thinking more and more about how we don’t need to go too dark or too opaque with hosiery to make a statement. A medium purple tight with just a touch of opacity is daring footless and sweeter full-length, and it looks interesting with shoes that feature over-the-foot straps. Read more »

The pointed toe pump has taken the fashion world by storm. They made their way into mainstream fashion this season and the runways are predicting that the silhouette will stick around for next spring and summer. That means buying a pair of pointed to pumps that will get you through the next year or two and update your work duds with just a change of shoes.
Do’s
- Do go for embossed neutrals to keep things from getting boring. Think nude, grey, black and cognac when choosing a neutral with a faux lizard or croc print embossed.
- Do go for dainty embellishments. A bow adds a whimsical look that will still look chic as long as you’re wearing a suit or other smart work gear.
- Do opt for an architectural heel. The pointed toe looks fabulously updated when paired with an architectural heel that has a slight curve.

Tights are an excellent way to wear all your summer dresses into fall, but do you ever have problems pairing your tights with your shoes? This footwear always looks beautiful (and feels comfortable) with tights, so have a hunt now and get ready for fall early.
1. Mary Janes: Since Mary Janes fit so securely on your feet, you will fall in love with them + tights. She’s got a host of multi-platinum albums, has starred in Oscar winning movies, and even got one of the world’s best rap stars to put a ring on it, so sometimes you just have to ask, is there anything Miss Beyonce Knowles can’t do? Well, if you were hoping it was “design shoes,” you’d be sadly mistaken, because the Destiny’s Child diva hits it out of the park with her Dereon line season after season.
Color: Our gal isn’t afraid of playing with pops of colors in her shoe line. We love the bright, multi-hued Henna, which features a snake-embossed upper complete with intersecting straps at the ankle and a hot pink, sky-high stiletto heel with matching platform midsole. Another great option if you want to brighten up your outfit is the Torch, which boasts a bright teal upper complete with cutout detailing and a delicate buckle closure at the ankle.

Mary-janes are the classic silhouette that little girls turn to again and again. Moms-in-the-know understand that mary-janes can dress up any outfit with just the change of shoes. Women can take a note from young girls now that mary-janes have grown up. Designers are giving us polished versions of the traditional shoe that we all loved in grade school.
Looking for something unconventional? Michael Kors went all out with the creation of Pippi, a darling mary-jane fit for work or play. Wear them in the day with your dark basics such as a navy sheath dress or dark gray pantsuit. The flash of patent leather is always welcomed for the fashionista who has to keep her garb conservative for the office.
The great thing about the Pippi is it’s fit for the weekend too. Try it with a silk racerback tank top and high waist skirt with a full shape.
