Excellent Rear View

September 29, 2011 Comments (0)

When selecting a new pair of shoes for the fall, resist the temptation of the bland, boring black pump. Try something different by elevating your style with fabulous details on the back of the heel. Whether you need the shoes for an elegant wedding, an exclusive party, or a first date, you should look glitzy and glam from the front to the back.  The latest trend of decorated heels will keep you looking sleek, sexy, and ready for any occasion.

Flirtatious Ruffles
You might be hesitant at first when it comes to ruffles in your wardrobe, but ruffles around your toes are the perfect way to make any outfit a bit more fun, flirty, and chic. Charmone’s Cinnamon pumps in black blend the right amount of classic elegance with a flirty open toe. The ruffles on this shoe make it a unique addition to any basic, fancy, and classy evening outfit. The simple black pump with the ruffles peeping out from the back heel gives it a hint of coquettish subtlety.

Back-Bows
The Cristella shoe by La Soir is a delicious pump in a vivacious sultry shade of red! Made from satin with rhinestone detail, this shoe will make you look sophisticated, graceful, and totally daring. The bow on the back heel heightens your style, and the bright tone on this pump gives any outfit you wear it with a splash of color.

Studded Diva
Sam Edelman is known for making some outrageous shoes, and the Roza pumps in black stay true to his bold style. With a whopping 4 1/2-inch heel and the studded gold detail on the back of the heel, these pumps will surely be a show stopper. Dare to rock the studs on these divalicious pumps on your next night out!

Shoe Lessons from Khloe Kardashian

June 26, 2011 Comments (0)

A while back Khloe Kardashian opened up her shoe closet to Elle Magazine and The Coveteur. You may be thinking that you don’t have much in common with a woman sho has such an insane amount of high-end shoes, but there are big lessons to be learned here when it comes to shoe selection, organization, and style.

Shelves of Shoes
Khloe packs all of her designer shoes into a closet with shelves. One shoe faces out, while the other faces in, maximizing her space and giving her a glimpse of the shoe she’s selecting. Instead of organizing shoes by designer or even occasion, Khloe opts to organize her shoes by color. Remember, you usually choose shoes based on color, so this is a smart way to get your shoes in order.

More is More
If you skim Khloe’s shoe closet, you’ll see many different shoe styles, but there’s also a few of the same style of one shoe. For example, Khloe has at least three pairs of black platform pumps. Is this a bad thing? Not at all. One pair is patent, one is flat leather, and the other is satin. These three different fabrics make for very different occasions. When buying basic shoes, like a pair of platform pumps, take into consideration the fabric that works best for the occasion. Don’t be afraid to gradually add on a pair of shoes in the same style, but in a different fabric to give your shoe wardrobe even more versatility.

Always Reach for Bling
The Kardashian sisters aren’t strangers to shiny things, so it’s no surprise that Khloe is a fan of shoes that are embellished with sparkle and bling. Even if your days and nights only take you to the office and the occasional dinner out, a pair of blinged-out heels can work. Of course, you don’t have to wear them with an ultra-short mini like the Kardashian sisters. Try pairing your sparkling heels with a jersey dress for a day look, and for evening, you can wear those same blinged heels with a loose top and distressed jeans.

Ditch Your Heels for Jeweled Flats This Holiday Season

December 29, 2010 Comments (0)

While sky high heels are tempting during the holidays, it’s only a matter of time before the blisters and feet make you look for another option. With ballet flats being all the rage, embellished ballet flats with jewels are perfect for holiday parties and hanging out with family.

Jeweled Flats Go Casual

Jeweled flats are perfect for those who travel during the holiday season because they can go casual or dressy. When wearing jeweled flats in a casual manner, play with texture. Try a cableknit sweater with a tweed skirt and tights or add texture with your tights by opting for a heathered or argyle print.

There’s nothing wrong with jeans with jeweled flats either. Dark rinse jeans work best for the holidays, since they have a more upscale feel than pale blues or stonewashed denim. Work your basic sweaters or knit tops with a pair of jeans and jeweled flats. Pick up the jeweled detail on your flats with a statement necklace for a pulled-together look that will have you looking polished through this hectic time of year. Read more »

Wearing Embellished Flats for Fall and Winter

October 5, 2010 Comments (0)

For some of us, once winter really kicks in, there’s no way we can wear flats unless we want them to be a soppy mess at the end of the work day. For others, flats are completely wearable during cold weather. When everyone is pulling out their boots for fall and winter, those who live in mild climates can pull out embellished flats. They’re sassy and easy to incorporate with your every day clothes whether you’re at work or running errands on the weekends.

Embellished flats are huge for fall. Look for interesting fabrics like satin, flannel and tweed for adding texture to your looks. These fabrics will also pop against plain opaque tights. For fall look for embellishments like studs, rhinestones and gold hardware. Chain link detail and exposed zippers are also key elements for adding hardware to your embellished flats. Read more »

What Shoes to Wear with Leggings

July 8, 2010 Comments (0)

Do you wear leggings, either at home or out on the town? This mini-guide should get you looking stylish in your super-stretchy pants, no matter where you wear them—and no matter where you bought them! Bargain leggings or expensive pairs from Nordstrom all look great with these shoe selections.

Ballerina Flats: These simple shoes are a classic choice for people who love clean looks—you can make your style go all the way back to Audrey Hepburn, circa 1950, if you want to. Get black velvet flats to wear with flat-front black leggings in autumn, and for now, look for fresh flats with a deep front dip.

Buckled Shoes: Buckles add a ton of jazz to sandals, and the more, the merrier! Your buckled shoes can be fashioned in punched leather or in super-soft suede, and the chicest of all are the kind with buckles that come covered in self fabrics to match. Tiny buckles look great on wedges, especially when there are a ton of straps involved. Leggings allow these buckles to stand out more than if paired with jeans.

Bright, Jeweled Sandals: There are a lot of cool trends to follow up on, and the tropical, exotic look is a wonderful one to explore. Leggings are often made in solid colors to match your favorite pieces, which means you can get away with shoes a whole lot brighter than you’re used to. Patterned leather blends beautifully with bright stones, glass discs, and tiny, colored leather cords, so wear shoes with these elements with black or navy leggings. Read more »
