{ a blog all about the love of shoes }
This spring there are plenty of fashion-forward trends lurking on the horizon, and we’re here to share the top three!
Wedge Works
We thought we’d seen the last of wedges last season, but it turns out that we were sorely mistaken. Brands like Prada and Valentino are continuing with the wedge trend and offering some fabulous footwear in the process. (We are specifically loving these Stud Bow Wedge from Valentino.)
High and Mighty
Unfortunately, your ankles will not be getting a break from sky-high heels this spring. Expect to see stilettos, which never seem to go out of style, everywhere you look in the upcoming months. Some of the most fashionable ways to increase your height include the Laverne from Michael Antonio and the Tribute from YSL.
Rainbow Bright
Make sure that your shoes of choice make a big, colorful impact this season. Red hot red will be a smash spring color, as well as brilliant cobalt blue, lemony yellow, and green. Styles like the Zippy from Madeline, the Kaula from Michael Antonio, and the Petra from Jessica Simpson are right in-step with the season’s hottest color trends.

White, cork-heeled and vibrantly hued shoes may have set the stage for a steamy summer, but this fall will require you to revamp your shoe closet once more. Most fashion enthusiasts know that we shoe fiends prefer to don our darker color schemes during winter and autumn—and this year is no different. Fall will be filled with plenty of black, gray, burgundy, dark blue, chocolate chip, deep violet and beige adaptations. Here are a couple of trends to be mindful of when shopping on the dark side.
Platforms and Wedges With Extra Edge
Complete with two blocky buckle add-ons, a 3 ½-inch wedge heel, and a suede finish, the Toluca ankle boot in dark brown by Hive & Honey promises you a polished fall look. If you’re seeking a shoe that doesn’t shy away from details, try the Hendrix by Matisse. These woven beauties boast a platform sole, 4 ½-inch heels, cut-out detailing, and a flirty peep toe.
Evenings in Suede and Satin
For a sophisticated, show-stopping, evening wear-friendly heel, grab the suede Jardenas by BCBG. Available in red, black and beige, these 4-inch ankle booties come complete with ruching, a unique braided detail, and a peep toe to show off your adorable pedicure. For a more playful pop, try the Tristan by Bebe. Smooth satin coats these 5-inch, platform soled pumps to make you standout.
Patent Leather and Reptile Skin Stlye
Joan & David’s Allura shoe is made from sleek, patent leather and comes complete with a 4-inch block heel, square toe, and bow detail. Wear them around the office with wide leg pants or pair with a pencil skirt for an after work dinner date. Heading out with the girls? You’re sure to be the envy of all your girlfriends in the Cosmic pumps by Jimmy Choo. Complete with a platform sole, 4 ½- inch heel, and a snake print detail on smooth leather, these last pumps were made for year-round style.

Award season might be winding down, but Stuart Weitzman has launched a brand new line of ultra glam evening shoes dubbed the Red Carpet Collection. The only bad news? The stunning shoes are only available for stars and their stylists…until April 1!
The new collection includes 35 different designs, with many boasting heel heights between 6 and 7 inches (and more) for those pint-sized stars. Among the more favorite styles – which have already proved a popular choice for Modern Family’s ultra-sexy Sofia Vergara and Mad Men’s gorgeous Christina Hendricks – are a gold lame pump dubbed the jazziest, a pair of ruby red satin heels with crystal buttons that would make Dorothy jealous, and a pair of black lace platforms that are sure to turn heads. If all this cold weather is getting you down and you’re already browsing the travel sites in search of a holiday destination, might we suggest you try Malaysia? You see, the country is currently listing shoes as a reason to come visit this tropical locale.
The idea for promoting the country as a shoe hub stems from the fact that it is the birthplace of one very famous footwear designer: Datuk Jimmy Choo. In addition, Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen noted that “Jimmy Choo for Shoe also rhymes” (although we’d like to think there was a little more to this set-up then simple rhyming!) We’ve loved their to-die-for dresses for as long as we can remember, and we love LOVE their so-chic selection of shoes!
The following are a few of our favorite styles for every occasion:
Best Tall Boot:
Part sleek and shiny vixen boot, part warm and cosy wool boot, the Adele is one boot that you just have to own! This shoe, which boasts a pointed toe and a soaring 4 inch pin-thin stiletto heel, would look perfect paired with skinny jeans or with leggings and a sweater dress. Divine! Read more »
Designer shoes are something most women love, but few can afford to buy at the drop of a hat. There’s no reason to have all designer shoes when there are so many budget-friendly options that create the same look and are often, just as comfortable. Still, every gal needs a designer label (or three) in her closet for those dreary days when the only thing that will boost your confidence is knowing your strutting around town like Carrie Bradshaw and company. Here are tips for shopping designer shoes during sale season:
1. Be open.
Don’t go in with your heart set on a certain style of shoe. Try on shoes that are in your size and if a frantic sales person is kind enough to make a suggestion, take them up on the offer and try on a different size or a style of shoe you wouldn’t normally wear. Like clothing, some shoes look far different on your feet than squashed on a sales rack.
2. Be honest.
If you won’t wear the shoes save for weddings and bat mitzvahs, pass. While they may be on sale, a designer shoe will still cost you in the low three digits and that’s cash that’s better spent elsewhere than sitting in your closet. Be honest with yourself and look for shoes that you’ll wear in the near future and that you can see yourself wearing often. You don’t have to leave every shoe sale with a new pair. Read more »
