{ a blog all about the love of shoes }
It’s December 1, which means that the Countdown to Christmas is on! You’ve only got 24 precious days left to shop, wrap, bake, and ship any and all presents to friends and family this year. And since you’re sure to have more than a few shoe-aholics on your list, I’ve put together part one of a 4-part list that will make gift giving a little easier this year. Today I’ve uncovered the perfect gifts for the ladies in your life who love color!
Green with Envy
We all have a friend and/or family member who loves, loves, loves anything bright, bold, and fabulous. So this year make sure she unwraps the brightest gift of them all. The Evelixa pump from Nina is a satin stunner with a sexy 4-inch heel. Its emerald green hue will make a beautiful contrast to a basic LBD!
Rainy Days
If it’s rainy, cold and gray outside, then there’s no better time to brighten up your look! These bright orange Original rain boots from Hunter will not only keep your feet warm and dry, but they’ll make you very easy to spot in a crowd!
The Bluest Eyes
These cobalt blue Colorblock Booties from Pierre Hardy are truly something to behold. The 4.5-inch stiletto heel may make balancing a bit problematic, but when your shoes are this fabulous, what’s a little vertigo? The $600 price tag definitely makes them a splurge, but the stunning craftsmanship and fierce color also make them a must-have.

Just because the weather has turned gloomy doesn’t mean that you must resign yourself to wearing a parade of dull, boring brown or black shoes until the sun decides to come out sometime in May. Brighten up your look, as well as your mood with these fierce, fabulous, colorful winter boots.
Brilliant Green
Boutique 9’s Cathy mid-calf leather boot in a pale, forest green looks bo-ho chic and earthy.
Deep Purple
If you feel like standing out in a crowd, but also keeping your feet warm, you must, must, must check out the Alda thigh-high boot from Shiekh. I barely have words to describe these funky and fabulous 4-inch stunners! Simply click here and behold!
Bright Orange
I’m still not sure how I feel about flat boots, but no matter what stance you have on the issue, you’ll definitely want to check out the Nicolette bright orange flat boots from Michael Kors. They just might be the perfect thing to perk up a black cashmere turtleneck and A-line gray skirt.
True Blue
And since there’s nothing like a blast of cobalt blue to shake you out of the winter blahs, thank goodness Steve Madden conjured up the Princey ankle bootie. The brilliant color in addition to the amazing skinny 4.5-inch heel equals nothing short of fabulous!

We’ve talked about color blocking before, but I’d like to reiterate my love for this trend. Every girl has two sides to her, so why not put that philosophy to use for shoes? With the color blocking trend you don’t have to settle for one shoe color–you can have both! Two solid colors working together to make one fabulous shoe that looks exquisitely unique from each angle, how bad could that be? Here are some of my eye-catching favorites.
Bright, Bold, and Beautiful
Keeping it bright and funky, the Ceci shoe by mymu gives you a 4-inch wedge heel with two outrageous colors–rusty red and a spunky purple! I would have never guessed that these two colors could work so well together. It might be the start of a beautiful friendship.
If you want to try this two-toned look, but don’t want the added height, look no further then the Tipsy shoe by Kate Spade. This flat look-a-like is tan with a blocked pink toe, giving you the color-block style while keeping you comfortably on the ground.
Playing Patch U
What’s better than two colors, you ask? Try 3! The rustic, yet elegant Android brown leather ankle bootie by Topshop keeps things interesting by adding patches of color. This 5-inch shoe has patches of light blue and rusty brown, giving it a rugged style with a neutral twist that blends perfectly with the colors of fall.
Classic With a Twist
Maintain the mystery with the classy and elegant Kassey peep-toed ankle bootie by Rachel Roy. With a 4 1/2-inch studded stiletto heel, a beige suede back, and a clean white front, this two-toned stunner will make on-lookers do several double-takes as you pass by.

While the color red evokes feelings of seduction, romance, and passion, wearing the vibrant shade the wrong way can create an unflattering disaster. With just a few hints, tips, and tricks you could feel glamorous and confident in your red shoes without feeling like you borrowed them from Bozo the Clown. Be careful though, you might just stop traffic when you walk around in these fabulous red finds!
Ready in Red
Ease your way into the risky road of red by starting off flat. The Adalia shoe by Hush Puppies fuses smooth red suede with brown leather to tame the wild red into a two-toned masterpiece that’s comfortable for everyday.
Do: Try these flats with a pair of your favorite dark skinny jeans and a cute leather clutch.
Don’t: Wear light, washed-out jeans with these shoes. The light contrasting with the dark red will make your outfit look sloppy.
C’est La Vie
Inspired by the chic, classic, Parisian style, Barefoot Tess’s Bordeaux pump gives you a European flare. The 3-inch heel on this red, rounded-toe beauty will make you feel elegant and stunning as you lounge around at a sidewalk café drinking a glass of Bordeaux.
Do: Wear a black, beige, or white dress with luscious, red lipstick to complement this shoe perfectly.
Don’t: Wear colors like green, pink, and blue. They’ll clash with this chic, elegant shoe.
Rock the Boot
Glam up your fall style with a splash of color by strutting in the 4 1/2-inch Cane ankle booties by Michael Antonio. The wedge heel on these red additions makes it comfortable in the rain, sleet, or snow!
Do: These booties go perfect with a pair of dark pants and a beige trench coat.
Don’t: A red coat and red shoes can make your outfit too loud. Try wearing one or the other, but never together.

Nothing gets you in the mood for spring quite like a pair of bold ‘n’ beautiful yellow shoes. Whether its flats, pumps or strappy sandals, the following styles are sure to put a spring in your step (and further confirm that my puns are terrible!)
Best Yellow Flat:
What’s not to love about the Sweet Caroline by Chinese Laundry, a barely-there ballerina flat which features a yellow PVC upper that includes exposed side panels and a closed toe accented with an oversized velvet ribbon bow. And the best part? These shoes are available for under $40! Read more »
Tis the season. Apparently, to be jolly, to give, to love, to share and… to wear black. You see, when your plate is full – either with things to do or with food! – it just seems easier and slimming to throw on a little black dress or tailored pants and a black sweater and head out to the holiday party scene!
This year, we’re embracing black. We just have one concession – pair your LBO (little black outfit – duh!) with this season’s other trend: Bright Booties!
Below are the best bright booties for every budget: Read more »
