We’ve all seen video segments on TV and the Internet where a camera crew ventures into the closet of a celebrity to check out her stockpile of shoes.
These women always seem to have hundreds of pairs of some of the world’s most expensive shoes that rest comfortably and neatly in custom designed closets that are about the size of the average master bedroom in the average McMansion.
But now one celebrity has outshined them all with what is perhaps one of the world’s largest collections of shoes. Celine Dion has recently revealed to a Canadian news outlet that she owns “about 3,000 pairs of shoes.” Three thousand pairs!! That means that she could wear a different pair of shoes each day for more than eight years without repeating even one pair!
She remarked that she feels no guilt about her indulgent habit because it is her one and only true vice. “Look, some people do drugs,” says Dion, “and I buy shoes.”

Next up on our Countdown to Christmas are a few of my personal favorites for the woman who loves comfort. You know who she is. The woman who’d sooner wear ballet flats or chic flat boots than sky-high stilettos any day of the week…but she always looks fabulous nonetheless.
Basic Ballet
If you’re going to buy the Comfort Girl a pair of ballet flats, make sure that they’re chic and far beyond basic black. Try the Ona from Mossimo in a holiday-appropriate cheery shade of red. The round toe and ruched detail at the heel make these flats anything but ordinary.

I just wanted to take a minute to remind all of the myShoes ladies out there to shop smart this weekend. There are only TWO MORE SHOPPING WEEKENDS left before Christmas, so you’ve got to make every moment count.
But while you’re bobbing and weaving through the mall this weekend to avoid strollers and small children and still get the best holiday deals, remember to take a breath. The holidays only come around once a year, so take a little time to focus on having fun, and enjoying your friends and family.

The holiday rush is on and moments to rest and relax are probably few and far between. But there are a few quick ways to rest your tired feet during this season of giving, wrapping, shopping, and celebrating….and they won’t cost you a dime.
Foot Massage
Professional foot massages can cost a small fortune…and they can take forever! So one of the best ways to sooth your tired feet is to simply soak them in a warm bath. Add a few drops of scented bath oils that you already have on hand to make the experience a little more luxurious and use those hands (or better yet the hands of your significant other) to rub a thick, luxurious moisturizer into your feet. Cover with a pair of socks to hold in the moisture and you’ll notice that you’ll feet will be smoother and ache-free.
Get off Your Feet
When your feet are screaming out in pain that means that it’s time to take a load off. Work a little shoe rest into your day by putting your feet up whenever you can. Bring a small foot stool to work and kick your feet out of those painful, yet fabulous high heels when you’re at your desk. Prop them up on your comfy stool and you’ll feet will feel much better by the end of the day.
