Cleats for a Cure

October 19, 2011 Comments (0)

Even if cleats aren’t your thing…men’s pink cleats to be exact, you may still want to check out eBay and make a bid on a very famous pair of pink and white cleats. The cleats are being auctioned off by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow who heads the Tim Tebow Foundation. In partnership with XV Enterprises, the cleats, which were worn by Tebow during a game against the Tennessee Titans on October 3, 2010, were custom made by Nike and are being auctioned off in order to benefit breast cancer research.

The auction began on October 17 and will end on October 24, so you only have a few more days to place your bid and make a contribution to an extremely worthy cause.

Trend Alert: Sandals for Semi-Formal Events!

October 18, 2011 Comments (0)

For all the ladies who are lucky enough to still be enjoying warm weather, there’s a fresh new shoe trend floating around Los Angeles. Trendsetting young ladies are rocking their embellished flat sandals to semi-formal events like dinners, evenings in the city, baby showers…you name it. But even though this trend sounds simple, there’s a method to making the style look sophisticated and fabulous.

Step 1: Stay Flat
There are so many times that we wind up doing so much more walking than we intended. Maybe the closest parking to your friend’s birthday dinner is a ½-mile trek from the restaurant, or you get a little lost exploring the city. Either way, this trend is for the ladies who prepare to strut their style comfortably.

Step 2: Put in Effort
To make this trend work, your sandals have to pair well with your overall look. For a basic sandal with a statement grab the ballenh in white from Sheik. The braided T-strap with a chain detail adds a stylish touch. The ballenh is also available in bold colors like blue and pink for your color-blocking needs.

Step 3: Go all the Way with Detail
Choose sandals with details that give them a semi-formal appeal. The multicolor Wheel of Fortune sandals by Seychelles boasts a sophisticated floral print on soft fabric that drapes around your ankle and across your toe. To get glittery, opt for the Anthology by Seychelles. A thick T-strap coated in beads and stones is semi-formal all on its own.

Final Thoughts
We’re big fans of budget-friendly shoe trends. And even though ankle breakers are still show stopping shoes for parties, when you’re meeting up with gal pals or heading to a community event there’s nothing wrong with a touch of California casual.

Rockin’ Rain Boots

October 14, 2011 Comments (0)

We know East Coast fashionistas don’t let the weather challenge their fashion skills. Rain or snow, ladies of the east always manage to stay chic. To keep you looking your best in the rain, we’d like to share a few fun shoe and style suggestions that blend your favorite fall trends with weather-proof designs. Try out these looks to make a refreshing fall fashion statement.

Ridin’ the Rain: What better way to ride through the rainy season then with riding boot inspired gear? It’s easy to achieve a refined look with Dav’s Distressed Equestrian Solid boots in dark gray. Boasting metallic accents, a 1-inch heel, a rubber sole, and an overall riding boot style, it’ll be easy to achieve a refined look. Pair these boots with leggings or skinny jeans for a sleek silhouette. Finish off with a camel colored top and your favorite rain coat to stay sophisticated in the wet weather.

Lace up and Rock Red: Even though combat boots and lace ups have been trying to make a splash in the style world, they weren’t meant for heavy rain–that is, until the Chooka Buffalo Bone came along.  You’re sure to love the fashion forward lace up detail against plaid print and the single red stripe that adds a pop of color. Match them with your red skinnies from summer and a neutral top for a brighter look. Add a gray scarf or knit hat to tie everything together and viola!—you’ll be the trendiest fashionista in any amount of rain or shine.

Up and Running

October 13, 2011 Comments (0)

As the temperature drops it becomes much more difficult to muster up the energy to get off the couch and get some exercise. (Let’s face it, a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate are much more enticing.)

And although athletic shoe designers can’t physically get you in the car and drive you to the gym for a workout, they have been creating an outstanding variety of shoes that will certainly motivate you to test drive these wonders of nature and see what they can do!

Running: If hitting the trails or just the neighborhood roads for a brisk walk is your style, then you’ve got to check out the Nike’s Air Max Moto+ 9, or if you prefer to throw a bit more color in the mix, then you’ll love Nike’s Lunarglide +3, which is available with a base color of bright red with a a golden Nike swoosh!

Goal!!!!!!!: For the soccer enthusiast try the Adidas Pator_X Trx Fg. Not only do they look sharp with a black base color and neon green strips on the upper, but the sturdy cleats will help you maneuver like a ninja out on the field. But if you’re craving a more classic look, check out the Roma Cv from Puma. The basic black and white color palette and the classic soccer shoe style represent timeless athletic style at its best.

Rock Climbing: If you’re more of an extreme sportsman and you heed the call of the rock wall, then you definitely need the right shoe to keep you from slipping and sliding. The Five Ten Canyoneer 2 is lightweight with Velcro tabs and a rubber sole, while the Zen Lady from Scarpa is constructed of suede and features a lace closure.

But no matter what athletic activity you choose or which shoe style you decide to let grace your feet, you’ll definitely look sharp and feel comfortable while you work up the sweat of a lifetime.

Sugar and Spice: Feminine Elements Meet Tough Embellishments

October 11, 2011 Comments (0)

Stepping out of the ordinary and walking on the wild side is always fun when it comes to trying new footwear styles. Opt for fabulous styles like the ones that we found that merge a bounty of fabulous embellishments that will complement your printed apparel pieces and spice up your more traditional, solid color looks.

For Comfort
Stay comfortable and glamorous in flats that sparkle. Kenneth Cole’s Glass Slipper, in gray and black features a round toe and sequin detailing that sets them apart from everyday flats. Pair them with your favorite jeans and T-shirts to add something extra to your everyday look, or style them with cropped pants and a blazer for a sophisticated, chic look.

For a Day Out
Naughty Monkey’s Joshua Tree wedges are perfect for the warmer days of fall. These canvas  wedges feature studs and grommets along the T-strap, platform, and 5-inch wedge heal. Available in black, orange and gray, the simple change in color creates a whole new look. The black plays with the biker look, orange with the bohemian vibe, while the gray has more a of beach-y appeal. These versatile shoes pair well with dresses, skirts, jeans, and tops bursting with vibrant prints.

For a Night Out
Embellished heals have made their debut on red carpets and are finding their place in our closests. For a truly sassy look, try out Boutique 9’s Daraye. The d’orsay design and peep-toe let your feet breathe in the fresh air. The bow above the tow lends itself to a girly, Betty Boop kind of cuteness, while the stud and grommet details that are spread over the whole shoe make it pop. For a more toned downed shoe that still stands out, try BCBG’s Abram pumps with a classic front and studding along the heal. Pair with metallic colors, little black dresses or your favorite body-conscious skirts.
