Warm neutral colors, like camel, whiskey, and tan, are definitely the colors of this fall and winter. If you don’t already own a pair of warm neutral shoes, you’ll want one as the season continues to push these friendly, cowboy-esque colors. But you may be unsure about how to navigate the new warm neutral trend, which is why we’re here to answer some of your most common questions:
Who looks good in warm neutrals? You!
Wear should I start? With your shoes, of course. Neutral shoes go with everything, and the best part of neutrals is that they add a flair of sophistication. There’s a mature, clean, crisp appeal in neutral colors.
How can I make a statement? To avoid looking plain, grab neutral shoes with a little something extra, like an embellishment. Woven materials, extra grommets and studs, straps, or buckles are perfect. I suggest the Bicker ankle bootie in tan by Blowfish. Featuring four straps and buckles across a rich, sleek leather with a 2 1/2-inch wedge heel, these booties have a clean silhouette and a touch of edge. For something softer, try the Tenley bootie by fioni in tan. A 4-inch wedge, lace-up detail for a snug fit, and an adorable fold-over cuff give the Tenley just the right amount of detail. And, if you’re experiencing warm weather, try Forever 21′s Beaded Leatherette Sandals that feature bead and stone embellishments along their trendy tan T-strap.
Can I color-block neutrals? Yes, but be careful. Color blocking can be tricky when you’re using multiple earth tones. You don’t want to end up looking bland. The Twotone knee boots by Seychelles do all the color blocking work for you. Boasting stitching detail, a flat stacked heel, and a cuff detail, these leather boots are available in tan, black, and brown. Each have a warm, darker cuff to complement their neutral colors.
Will neutrals work with prints and bold colors? Neutrals will work with everything. Although they work best when you wear a few accessories of a similar color. A pair of multicolor feather earrings, bangles, or a snake print scarf will usually tie your outfit together.
How much is too much? Either wear a single statement piece, like a jacket, or opt for multiple accessories. For a classic look, try a white button-down blouse and dark jeans with a tan belt, purse, and ultra-adorable tan shoes.

We’ve talked about color blocking before, but I’d like to reiterate my love for this trend. Every girl has two sides to her, so why not put that philosophy to use for shoes? With the color blocking trend you don’t have to settle for one shoe color–you can have both! Two solid colors working together to make one fabulous shoe that looks exquisitely unique from each angle, how bad could that be? Here are some of my eye-catching favorites.
Bright, Bold, and Beautiful
Keeping it bright and funky, the Ceci shoe by mymu gives you a 4-inch wedge heel with two outrageous colors–rusty red and a spunky purple! I would have never guessed that these two colors could work so well together. It might be the start of a beautiful friendship.
If you want to try this two-toned look, but don’t want the added height, look no further then the Tipsy shoe by Kate Spade. This flat look-a-like is tan with a blocked pink toe, giving you the color-block style while keeping you comfortably on the ground.
Playing Patch U
What’s better than two colors, you ask? Try 3! The rustic, yet elegant Android brown leather ankle bootie by Topshop keeps things interesting by adding patches of color. This 5-inch shoe has patches of light blue and rusty brown, giving it a rugged style with a neutral twist that blends perfectly with the colors of fall.
Classic With a Twist
Maintain the mystery with the classy and elegant Kassey peep-toed ankle bootie by Rachel Roy. With a 4 1/2-inch studded stiletto heel, a beige suede back, and a clean white front, this two-toned stunner will make on-lookers do several double-takes as you pass by.

While the color red evokes feelings of seduction, romance, and passion, wearing the vibrant shade the wrong way can create an unflattering disaster. With just a few hints, tips, and tricks you could feel glamorous and confident in your red shoes without feeling like you borrowed them from Bozo the Clown. Be careful though, you might just stop traffic when you walk around in these fabulous red finds!
Ready in Red
Ease your way into the risky road of red by starting off flat. The Adalia shoe by Hush Puppies fuses smooth red suede with brown leather to tame the wild red into a two-toned masterpiece that’s comfortable for everyday.
Do: Try these flats with a pair of your favorite dark skinny jeans and a cute leather clutch.
Don’t: Wear light, washed-out jeans with these shoes. The light contrasting with the dark red will make your outfit look sloppy.
C’est La Vie
Inspired by the chic, classic, Parisian style, Barefoot Tess’s Bordeaux pump gives you a European flare. The 3-inch heel on this red, rounded-toe beauty will make you feel elegant and stunning as you lounge around at a sidewalk café drinking a glass of Bordeaux.
Do: Wear a black, beige, or white dress with luscious, red lipstick to complement this shoe perfectly.
Don’t: Wear colors like green, pink, and blue. They’ll clash with this chic, elegant shoe.
Rock the Boot
Glam up your fall style with a splash of color by strutting in the 4 1/2-inch Cane ankle booties by Michael Antonio. The wedge heel on these red additions makes it comfortable in the rain, sleet, or snow!
Do: These booties go perfect with a pair of dark pants and a beige trench coat.
Don’t: A red coat and red shoes can make your outfit too loud. Try wearing one or the other, but never together.

Fall may have come out swingin’ in most of the Lower 48, but there are a few warm spots in the country that will still allow you to step out in a pair of spectacular sandals. Gladiators are the style soldier’s chosen shoe, and we’re bringing you a few pairs with enough sugar and spice to fashionably carry you through this fall’s obsession with edge and attitude.
Warrior Princess Footwear
Fight for your love of fashion in the Xena. Available in bronze and white, these Apple Bottoms gladiators with a 1-inch wedge, zipper back, thick detailed straps, edgy studs and grommets, and braided detail guarantee a bold look. Embellishments and two tones of leather pack a chic fist full of attitude. Pair the Xena with your favorite dress or body conscious skirt to be the trendiest style soldier.
Sneakers Meet Gladiator Sandals
Some of us will always favor sneakers for school days. Why shouldn’t we? Sneakers come in an assortment of bold colors that make it easy to style your school day looks from the bottom up. For sneakers with an extreme twist, grab the Hena by Punkrose. Making gladiator sandals and sneakers one in the same, the Hena boasts an open toe, classic sneaker laces, a caged style, and a lightning bolt detail at the heel for extra attitude.
Armed With a Shoe of Teal
With all the neutrals, rusty reds, and hot coco themed color palettes floating around this fall’s fashions, we don’t want to lose ourselves in a sea of dull shoes. Look dangerously fashionable in a colorful pair of gladiators like Naughty Monkey’s Beam Me Up sandals in teal. Leather straps and a diamond-shaped pattern of intertwined knots adorned by shimmering studs and grommets will have you dressed to kill.

Like gas prices, recent Pixar flicks and skyscrapers alike, modern day heels seem to recognize one trend and one trend only – going up. Comfortable, two-inch heels are rapidly transitioning into, “your mother’s business shoes,” while 6-inch numbers like Steve Madden’s Bitter or Bevv-L styles are no longer reserved for high-fashion models or celebrities. While you recognize how gorgeous ankle-breakers are and how fabulous they make your legs look, you are also well aware of how impossible it is to last an entire day in a pair of skinny-heeled platforms. As my affinity for yoga pants and v-neck t-shirts may suggest, I am a comfort seeker. As a result, I lean towards these fashionable alternatives for my days in the office as well as my nights on the town.
70s Inspiration
The foot-friendly chunky heel and classic suede finish to the Sarrina by Steve Madden affords fashion enthusiasts just the right amount of comfort and flair. Boasting a 4 1/2-inch heel and a 1 1/4-inch platform, this pair of thick, boxy heels offers you all of the leg definition and show-stopping glory that you could dream of without a drop of ankle-breaking discomfort.
Fun and Flirty Sole Relief
Appearing to defy both gravity and stylistic bounds, the Trixie by Jessica Simpson flaunts all of the perfect curves for a flawless finish to any fall-friendly dress or skinny jean. Because the 5 1/2-inch heel and platform boasts a thick, boxy finish, you can rest assured that this pair of platforms will do all of the hard work so that you and your pedicured feet don’t have to.

Instead of falling backward in style with your old dark boots, leap into the land of the fashion forward with moccasin-inspired footwear. Even though moccasin styles have popped up here and there for some time, they didn’t have what it takes to create a moccasin movement until these innovative new pairs by Minnetonka came along. Be the first to jump on this trend, and, with our styling tips, you’ll be able to rock this fresh new look without compromising your personal style.
Trendy Temptresses
Your new crop jacket and over-sized, flowing graphic T-shirt were made for each other. Wear them with a pair of form-fitting leggings and a statement knee-high boot. The Front Lacehi by Minnetonka is the trendiest pair of flat lace-up boots with fringe detail at the top. Their moccasin style sets them apart from ordinary boots and will give you that new fall look you’ve been searching for.
Bohemian Beauties
For the ladies who don’t want to sacrifice their bohemian style to the cool fall breeze, we’ve thought of a complete look just for you. Sport your new off-the-shoulder sweater with a statement necklace, ‘70s inspired wavy hair, and feather accessories. Finish the look with dark jeans and Minnetonka’s flat, mid-calf Woodstock boot. Fringe detail and bead embellishments add texture while lace-up detailing at the ankle preserves the moccasin look and ensures a snug fit.
Casual Cuties
Even though you love to wear jeans and flowing skirts, you’re not afraid to sport a pair of trendy sweats. You love to mix and match, which is why we found a shoe that will go with everything. Minnetonka’s Peace shoes boast a more traditional, slip-on moccasin design. These comfy flats offer stitching, fringe, and bow details, but it’s the studded peace sign that makes them stand out. You’ll be super comfy and extra stylish.
Budget Styling Tip
If you’re trying to get more mileage out of last year’s sweaters, moccasins will update your old outfits. A pair of new statement shoes and a set of feather earrings are sure to bring a fresh feel to your old favorites.
