As a college student studying exercise science, I never thought I’d be receiving fashion advice from a professor. But after walking to class with a giant blister forming on my heel — courtesy of my fab new summer sandals — my professor taught me the coolest trick for preventing future foot foibles.
You see, in order for a blister to occur, three conditions must be present: heat, friction, and moisture. The theory goes that if you remove one of these conditions, a blister will no longer form. Lanvin’s Spring 2010 runway show featured the kind of edgy glamour we’ve come to expect from our beloved Alber Elbaz- raw edged silks and dark, romantic laces set off by super elegant heels made dangerous with a simple touch of chain. Like a bracelet for your shoe, this little addition is all bad-girl charm, and not at all akin to a summertime, beach-friendly anklet.
Well ahead of when Lanvin’s shoes will actually arrive in stores, the idea has already been taken up in the streets of Paris where crafty girls are fashioning their own shoe jewelry from chains.
